Offspring 2010 presents the work of eight young visual artists, it signifies the end of their two year work period at De Ateliers in Amsterdam, an internationally renowned post-academic artists institute. The exhibition, curated by freelancer Suzanne Wallinga, displays the dynamic and diverse practices of the chosen artists in a comprehensive presentation of their work. This is the fifth year De Ateliers has held an annual exhibition and this year's exhibition reflects the challenging and ambitious attitude of these artists to their media. Along with the exhibition is a full colour catalogue with texts about the artists by Suzanne Wallinga. Opening of Offspring 2010: Tuesday May 18, from 5pm to 7pm.
The exhibiting artists are Marie Aly (Germany), Etienne Fouchet (France), Carl Johan Hőgberg (Sweden), Axel Linderholm (Sweden), Eileen Maxson (US), Rory Pilgrim (UK), Siobhán Tattan (Ireland) and Raed Yassin (Lebanon).
Frans Timmermans, former Secretary of State of European Affairs, will open the exhibition on Tuesday the 18th of May at 5 PM.
The exhibition is opened from the 19th of May until the 30th of May, daily from 1 to 6 PM, and is free of charge. De Ateliers, Stadhouderskade 86, 1073 AT Amsterdam.
