| "It is possible that one of the most surprising artistic events of this year has come, as the saying goes, unexpectedly. After the revision of canonical values in a pop-ish manner and several interesting yet mostly chamber style art exhibitions at the art galleries and public halls of Riga center, a serious claimant upon the “Purvitis”, “Diena” and other annual awards has finally announced himself. From the unforeseen side – Kaspars Brambergs one-man show has arrived and can be seen at one of the best, though not the most popular exhibition halls – DFAB. Confirming once more that not always does true art appear where it is loved the most,” wrote art critic Vilnis Vējš before almost a year. At the end of year 2010 Kaspars Brambergs was awarded with Annual Culture Award Organised by Latvian largest newspaper Diena (The Day). After his presentation in Kompass, which took place in this year’s 22nd June at Art Center Totaldobže, Kaspars agreed to an exhibition for us.
